SHARON JONES-TAYLOR Obituary

Sharon Louise Jones was born November 18, 1955, in Chicago IL, the ninth of thirteen children of

Charles Howard Jones and Mildred Beatrice Brooks Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents,

sisters: Gloria Jean Banks and LaVerne Bell; brothers: Ernest, Michael Francis and Jon Glen Jones;

and grandson, Brandon Brown.

Sharon proudly honored her parents as the first recipient of a college degree, thus igniting the Jones

Elementary School education legacy. She attended St. Raphael Catholic School and Mount Vernon

graduating from Christian Fenger High School in Chicago IL where her studies included French and

Drama. She received an Associates of Arts Degree from Lincoln College in Lincoln IL, and a Bachelor

of Science Degree in Nursing from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL

Sharon received the sacraments of baptism, first holy communion, and confirmation at St. Raphael

Catholic Church in Chicago IL. She continued her walk with Christ in Los Angeles CA.

Sharon loved her family, especially her daughter, Danielle Lanae, born of her marriage to Carl Jones,

and her grandson, Brandon Brown. She and Brandon were inseparable. They took every opportunity

to dine together at their favorite restaurants, she attended his school events, and they practiced the

latest dance moves at home. Sharon was also involved with Brandon's participation with The Sickle

Cell Foundation's summer camp initiative. She later married Henry Taylor, who preceded her in death

Sharon was employed at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital for several years. Upon relocating to Los Angeles

in 1988, she became employed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Centinela Hospital Medical Center in

Inglewood, CA, and later retired from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry with

more than 25 years of service,

Sharon was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and partnering with sister Adrienne

"to whip some folks" in a game of Bid Whist. Among popular board games, Family Feud was her

favorite where she insisted on hosting and managing the buzzer.

Sharon was excited to participate in a local summer theatre group where she received the leading

role in Camelot and My Fair Lady, However, the family became unwilling r participates as she walked

through the house reciting her lines. She relished the role so much that she subsequently earned the

endearing family title of drama queen.

Sharon made her transition to life eternal on January 21, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Her passing

leaves a huge cavern in our hearts that will be impossible to fill.
