Ruth Francois Jefferson, a New Orleans native, passed away at her home in Los Angeles from complications of Lewy Body Dementia& Multiple Myeloma.
A retired Los Angeles area middle school counselor, Ruth is an alumna of Southern University at New Orleans, Southern University and A&M College, Pepperdine and California Lutheran Universities.
The Mt. Sinai Church member and Life Member of the southern University Alumni Federation is survived by her daughter, Jevaillier A. Jefferson, of Los Angeles; one brother, Charles L. Francois, of Stockbridge, Georgia: five sisters: Dr. Neari F. Warner, of Stockbridge, Georgia; Orangel N. Francois, of McDonough, Georgia; Wanda F. Randall, of McDonough, Georgia; Sandra F. Atkinson (Darryl) , of Hampton, Georgia and Roslyn M. Francois, of Los Angeles; four nephews: Jimmie D. Warner, Jr., (Nekhia), of Riverdale, Georgia: Damond L. Francois, of New Orleans;Brenton C. Francois, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Myron I. Randall Jr., of Atlanta; three nieces: Talana J. Randall, Dr. Daria E. Atkinson and Dariaun E. Atkinson, of Hampton, Georgia, and one great niece, Princess N. Warner.
A host of extended family, friends, colleagues, students and church members will also cherish her memory.
Ruth's parents, Cornelius and Enell Francois, one brother, Forest L. Francois, and her former husband, Edward J. Jefferson, Jr., preceded her in death.
A socially-distant walk-through viewing will be held from Noon -4p.m. on Monday, June 14,2021,in the Garden Chapel of Inglewood Mortuary, 1206 Centinela Ave., Inglewood, Calif. 90302. Photography is strictly prohibited.
