Ramar Duran Fellows, 69, was born on August 21, 1955, in Los Angeles, California,
to Jarrette Dean Fellows SR. and Charlene Rose Fellows. Ramar, a man of god,
peacefully transitioned on January 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy,
and cherished memories.
Ramar was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene; his father, Jarrette Sr.; and
two sisters, Linda and Nina Fellows. He is survived by his four living siblings—
Choya, Jarrette Jr., Charmaine, and Armon Fellows—who will carry his memory
forward with love.
As the son of a U.S. Navy serviceman, Ramar spent his early years in various cities,
including San Francisco, Watts, and San Pedro, before settling in Compton in 1965.
he attended Emerson Elementary, Dominguez High School, Compton College, and cal
state university northridge, laying the foundation for a life filled with hard work
and dedication.
In 1978, Ramar became a proud father to his first daughter, Shantai Fellows, who
marked the beginning of his journey as a parent. In the late 1980s, Ramar, with
Shantai by his side, moved to Inglewood, where he united with his soon-to-be
wife, Korla robinson. Korla brought with her two children, Brandon and Chrystal
Robinson. Together, Ramar and Korla expanded their family, welcoming two more
children, Trystan and Kyndell Fellows. What began as two separate families became
a blended family of seven. His legacy lives on not only through his remaining 4siblings,
but also through his wife, son, 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-
grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ramar dedicated much of his career to Southern California Edison, where he
worked as a Field Service Representative for 36 years.Outside of work, Ramar found
joy in the simple things. You could always find him at home playing loud music,
gardening, tending to his dogs, sitting poolside or enjoying backyard baseball
games with balls he made out of tin-foil.Ramar also loved food. With his family he
would often dine in different restaurants, only to always order the same items;
Steak, Lobster or enchiladas. It’s safe to say he never missed a reservation.
Ramar was the life of the party. His love for music and dancing was infectious,
and he was often seen busting out his signature pop-lock move, the same move he’d
proudly been doing since high school. Some of his favorite artists were Michael
Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The O’Jays, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
Ramar's presence was felt by all who knew him. He holds a special place in all of
our hearts and will be deeply missed, but as he always said, in true "Rum" fashion,
never goodbye—but always "later." Rest in peace, Ramar. You may be gone, but the
laughter you brought into the world will echo forever.
