Norman James Aubry Sr., 74, of Los Angeles, CA, passed away on May 18, 2020 in his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, May 29,2020 at Inglewood Mortuary. Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Inglewood Mortuary.
Norman James Aubry Sr. was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles S. Aubry and Muriel E. Jackson on October 10, 1945. He spent his childhood in Oakland, California. After the family moved to Southern California, he graduated from Susan Miller Dorsey High School in 1963.
After high school Norman served in the US Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ device 1960, and Vietnam Service Medal.
After his service in the military, he began his career at the City of Los Angeles. His first job as a gardener. He eventually worked his way up to a Superintendent for the City of Los Angeles Sanitation Department after 35 years. He retired from the City of Los Angeles in 2006.
In his free time he was involved in Hawthorne Pop Warner as a coach. He was a domestic pigeon breeder and a part of the National Birmingham Roller Club.
Norman James Aubry Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Muriel Elizabeth Aubry and Charles Septamus Aubry.
Norman James Aubry Sr. is survived by sons Norman Aubry II, Gary Aubry, Mikel Hodges, daughters Raphaela Hodges Lukic, Muriel Thompson, Regina Haro. Sisters Yvonne Louise Holm and Audrey Faith Miller. Grandchildren Gerard Glass, Brandon Corsey, Cameron Aubry, Kendel Hodges, Devyn Hodges, Lauryn Aubry, Jarman Aubry, Nicole Fields, Jayden Aubry, Mason Thompson, Sebastian Lukic.
