Kaluhua Brown was a radiant light in our lives, who departed this world unexpectedly on August 9 , 2025. Born on March 13 , 1993, to La Rhonda Brown and Keith Brown in Los Angeles, California. Kaluhua was a beautiful, ambitious, and compassionate soul whose life was a testament to determination, grace, and kindness. She recently achieved one of her greatest dreams, earning her Master’s degree in occupational therapy, an accomplishment that filled her with pride and inspired everyone who knew her. We celebrate this incredible milestone and are grateful that the University of Saint Augustine allowed her family to receive her Master of Science Degree to honor her, as a reflection of the hard work and dedication she poured into her studies and her life’s purpose of helping others. Kaluhua’s heart was as big as her dreams. She had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her laughter could fill a room, and her smile could warm even the heaviest of hearts. She carried herself with quiet strength and unwavering faith, touching countless lives with her generosity, encouragement, and spirit of excellence. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, La Rhonda Brown, her father Keith Brown, her siblings Keanna Pollard, Lakeia Bradley, Kathryn Brown and Kamryn Brown, her fiancé Scott Zedd, her nieces Cherish Deloach and Cali Pollard, her nephew Harper Pollard, her Aunts Felicia Toppin, Evelyn Joyce Riley, Nessie Toppin, Loretta Brown, Karen Brown, Danita Slaughter, and Tonya Thomas, her Uncles Michael Riley, Del Riley, Robert Thomas, Gerald Edwards, Devell Riley, Roscoe Brown, Maurice Slaughter, and Jim Brown, her great uncle Elijah Asante’, her grandmother Donna Hyde-Riley who preceded her in death, her grandmother Karen Whitfield, her great grandmother Erma Colon, her grandfather Reverend William Riley, a host of cousins, extended family and best friend and sister Sade Miller, Liza Smith, Sahara Wray and Morgan Wray and her ROD’s, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though a part of our hearts is missing, we are comforted knowing that her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and, in the example, she set for perseverance, compassion, and joy. Though she is no longer with us in body, Kaluhua’s light will forever shine in our hearts.
