JEANEVA REESE

Jeaneva Reese, 76, of Hawthorne, CA, passed away on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, in her home. She succumbed to kidney disease, finding release from the suffering of chronic arthritis.

Born in Hernando, MS, on December 25th, 1947, to Thelma Baldwin and Ernest Newson, Jeaneva was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She valued strength, dignity,creativity and integrity. 

Jeaneva Reese pursued higher education at the University of Irvine, earning her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Criminology. She found joy in the investigative field, often immersing herself in murder mysteries and detective shows.

She dedicated her professional life to nursing education, serving as an administrator at Harbor UCLA Medical Center before retiring. Jeaneva was a gifted culinary chef, delighting in feeding her family and friends with thoughtful meals from the heart.

Jeaneva Reese is survived by her children  Kim Reese, Marcus L. Thomas, Maya L. Thomas, and brother Anthony Newson. She was preceded in death by her mother Thelma Baldwin and father Ernest Newson.

 

Ms.Reese was cremated. Though she may be gone from our sight, Ms. Jeaneva Reese’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she be received by the ancestors! Rest in peace, forever remembered and loved.          ASHE!--
