ALVAN LLEWELYN FULLER – A LIFE OF HUMILITY
~ BORN NOVEMBER 1 ST , 1930 TO MAURICE PALGRAVE AND JANE ELIZABETH
FULLER
~ REUNITED WITH HIS CREATOR ON DECEMBER 18 TH , 2021.

ALVAN MARRIED NORMA SARITA FULLER (NEE ROGERS) ON AUGUST 7 TH , 1954
AND TOGETHER THEY GAVE LIFE TO ONE DAUGHTER LISA, AND FOUR SONS,
STEPHEN, JAMES, GREGORY(DECEASED), AND DAVID.
THOSE CHILDREN BLESSED THEM WITH 9 GRANDCHILDREN: MERCIE,
STEPHANIE, PAULA, BREANNA, KELSEY, DAVID JR., AZALEAH, ELIZA, JUSTIN AND
SEVERAL GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.


HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, BROTHER HUGH FULLER, SISTER
JANE ELIZABETH FULLER AND SON GREGORY, BUT IS SURVIVED BY ONE SISTER,
MRS. JACQUELINE SUTHERLAND AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. 
ALVAN WAS EDUCATED PRIMARILY IN BELIZE AND BEGAN A TRUE LIFE OF
HUMILITY AS A MESSENGER AT THE BELIZE CITY COUNCIL, AT THE AGE OF
SEVENTEEN.  HE LATER EXPANDED HIS CAREER TO THE BANKING AND
INSURANCE INDUSTRIES AND CONTRIBUTED IN VARIOUS CAPACITIES TO MANY
PUBLIC SERVICE SECTORS.  THESE ROLES INCLUDED SERVICE AS PRESIDENT OF
THE HOLY REDEEMER CREDIT UNION, BELIZE CITY COUNCILLOR AND MAYOR
AND PERHAPS HIS MOST GRATIFYING ROLE OF PASTOR OF THE INTERNATIONAL
ASSEMBLIES OF GOD CHURCH.  HE WAS ALSO A VERY GOOD MUSICIAN AND
PLAYED THE TROMBONE IN THE “CRUISING CAVALIERS” BAND AND A MOUTH
ORGAN IN “LOS MELODIOUS'', A BAND FORMED BY HE AND HIS BROTHER-IN-
LAW.


FOLLOWING RETIREMENT FROM BUSINESS AND POLITICS, CHURCH AND
SERVICE TO HIS CHURCH COMMUNITY AND BEYOND CONTINUED TO BE HIS #1
PASSION.  HE APPROACHED ALL OF HIS ENDEAVORS WITH A KEEN FOCUS ON
LOVING AND SERVING WITH HUMILITY AND SHARING HIS LOVE OF HIS LORD
AND SAVIOUR WITH ALL WHOM HE ENCOUNTERED. 


AFTER MOVING TO CALIFORNIA, ALVAN AND THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE FOR 67
YEARS, NORMA, BECAME ACTIVE MEMBERS OF AN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD
CHURCH WHICH IS KNOWN TODAY AS NEW LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH. 

HE SERVED AS A DEACON ON THE BOARD AND TOGETHER WITH HIS WIFE THEY LED
THE PRAYERS, SERVED AS USHERS, GREETERS AND DISTRIBUTED FOOD AT THE
PANTRY.  AS HE HIMSELF DESCRIBED IT, “THIS HAS BEEN AN EXCITING AND
GRATIFYING EXPERIENCE FOR US KNOWING THAT WE SERVE GOD OUR CREATOR
AND OUR FELLOW MEN.  OUR CHURCH IS VERY MULTICULTURAL WITH MEMBERS
FROM ABOUT FIFTY DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND IT IS VERY FAMILY ORIENTED. 
WE LIVE LIKE BROTHERS AND SISTERS – BIBLE BLESSINGS.”


THROUGHOUT EVERY CHAPTER OF HIS LIFE ALVAN ESPOUSED THE PRINCIPLES
OF “HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY” AND “LIVING WITH HUMILITY” AND WE
HONOR AND CELEBRATE HIM ON THIS DAY. 


DAD, YOU WERE TRULY A GIANT AMONGST MEN AND WE WILL ALWAYS
REMEMBER YOU WITH FOND MEMORIES AND A DEEP SENSE OF GRATITUDE
FOR THE SELFLESS LOVE YOU GAVE US.
